Since this is a Grateful Dead Forum, and many people are zealously dissing anyone who wants to compare The Dead with The Grateful Dead or Warren with Garcia, should threads about 'The Dead' be posted in the Live Music Forum of the Archive rather than here? As are most topics about other bands.

Or should they be labeled here as (non grateful dead)??

Just askin'

When most of the boys are dead, and only Bob is left, and the "Dead" has been reduced to a Lounge act at the local Holiday Inn Express...then we can put it under a new thread....

I did find it hard to search for the shows by the current DEAD since it kept directing me to the "real" DEAD even when using the year, 2009. Oh, I was doing this search for a "friend"...seriously...

I assume you are OK with discussions, pro and con, of the current DEAD. Even the Will Rodgers of the Forum feels that it's the American Way to evaluate all bands objectively, so personally, I am always surprised by the negative reaction to critical reviews (that is somewhat ironic, n'est-ce pas? That the folks that cry foul about negative reviews are in essence being negative when they are making the case for being about nothing but love and kisses...funny, really).

We have truly beaten this horse many times before, but of course one SHOULD post pro and con when expressing opinions about performances and performers...I can find plenty of screwups in my beloved early era, and have no problem with others outlining the various issues they might have with Phil's vocals during the Eleven or PP's organ, or what have you...

It really wouldn't be much fun around here if everyone just keep posting Rainbows and Flowers and so on.

Thanks WWD! I did in fact LINK it at my desk top! Synergy?! Clearly, we know each other too well...

A friend that is very new to this all needed very explicit directions on how to DL the files, etc., and I kept having to find the link again to their shows only, etc., etc., and then painstakingly go thru the steps with her, blah, blah, blah...of course, it seems so simple now, but I recall just three yrs ago how new it was to me...I had never DL'd anything, etc., etc. Very exciting at the time!

All that matters is whether the liquor is clean.

Although in the present case, it might be nearbeer.

What does dissing mean? And if I smoke Afghani/pakistani hash, as sticky as plungin yer hand in Winnie The Pooh's honey pot, am I collaborating or burning the enemies crops?

Deyz- that post will certainly redirect the focus of this thread.
And how do you know how sticky Winnie the Pooh's honey pot is? lol

Anyway, IMO keep the The Dead here until some enterprising person or group creates a "The Dead" forum. I don't think the archive would have a prob with that as the 2 bands are listed separately in the LMA. I mean, really, there's a Tim Leary forum here with a whopping 0 posts.

Havin a deluxe edition of Winnie The Pooh, for the Queen of Quebec, and likin honey in my tea I just let my imagination run wild. Have a beautiful sister called Janet. I wish the boys well but i'm a Jerry sort of person. In fact I still have an original copy of Rollin Stone featurin the second part of Jerry's interview when he was still with MG. How it survived all these years I don't know. Found it at my ma's. Beautiful picture of Jerry on the beach. Beautiful man.
